UPDATE! Prize for this blogfest is a 10 page critique or 4 page synopsis critique from CA Marshall ~ Your choice. OR use the price ($35) as credit towards a full critique which is typically around $500. Click her button to view her services.
I mentioned that I wanted to do this, like, ten followers ago, so I think I’ve procrastinated enough, don’t you? Here’s the pic for your sidebars, posts etc. . . . Not mandatory, but a mention on a blog post to spread the word would be AWESOME. Link directly to this post.
(All pictures for this fest are from CoolVibe ~ a great site for inspiration!)
That’s right! Why not show ourselves off and learn a little something in the process?? Since Charissa Weaks started doing her version of Show vs Tell on her site, I have learned soooo much about this. I’m not great at it, by any means, but it was an eye opening experience. (I linked to her example b/c this is how we’re doing the fest and I wanted you to see some examples.)
#1 ~ Choose a picture below. On January 15th, give us your example of Show and Tell (one each).
#2 ~ All entries must be posted no later than the 15th and no more than 1,000 words in length for your show, no more than 500 for your tell. You’ll have the 15th thru the 17th to read and comment on all entries. Remember to BE NICE in your comments. Offer constructive criticism.
#3 ~ Write your piece in whatever genre you’re comfortable with. We love them all!
#4 ~ You vote for the winner! I think that’s the best way to choose. I’ll post all the names for votes on my blog and will leave it up until the 18th. Make sure to tell your followers to vote, too!
That’s it! Like I said, if you need an example of what we’re doing here, check out the link to Charissa Weak’s blog. Your pics and Mr. Linky are below! Good luck!!
#1 Aion Love
#2 Zombie Playground
This sounds fun, I'll post it on my side bar with all the other blogfests I have up.
ReplyDeleteThis does sound like fun. Do we have to choose from those 7 pictures or can we choose one from our cyber-collection?
ReplyDeleteAnother fest! Yay. Can't wait for this one. I love the pics. They are all so great.
ReplyDeleteOh, the decision...
J
Roland, from the 7 here. Sorry that wasn't clear. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was totally on the fence for a while but that 7th picture is calling to me PLUS I worked out how to set my calendar on my laptop so I don't forget, so I am in!
ReplyDelete:D
Yay, Mia! I was hoping you'd join, but I really thought you'd prefer the zombie playground. :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds brilliant. I may even do this now.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great idea. I'm in.
ReplyDeleteHey Misty, are we supposed to pick a picture and then write two selections... one telling and one showing. I was a little confused.
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm really excited to read what you guys come up with! <3
ReplyDeleteI probably ought to be working on my WIP instead of entering loads of Blogfests, but how could I resist the artwork?!
ReplyDeleteI shall enjoy writing it!
I'm having a blogfest too :D
No Fear Blogfest
:Dom
I know you said "up to" but 500 and 1000 words is a LOT of words! An awful lot more than on Charissa Weaks' blog?
ReplyDeleteBTW your blogfest button looks absolutely awesome on my sidebar!
Now that I've been sufficiently hollered at for not having noticed the blogfest and being shamed into showing not telling *sticks out tongue* I'll shall add my name to the list.
ReplyDeleteWow I just happened upon this and I'm in. :O)
ReplyDeleteMy first half is posted - the telling story. Showing will follow tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd found your blog before the contest opened. zgooid luck to every one.
ReplyDeleteOoh...I'm excited to read all the responses! Good luck to everyone and remember....show through action, dialogue and description!!
ReplyDeleteJust in case Nina visits ...
ReplyDeleteYour show and tell doesn't seem to be accepting comments - here is what I wanted to say
... and an excellent entry it was too!
Everyone has got waaaaay more difference between their show and tells than I did!!
Your show piece was hugely powerful, sizzling with emotion. Fantastic stuff.
Well done. I am sure you will go far with your writing.
:Dom
I'm so sorry I forgot about this. The 10 page critique is worth gold! Heading out to read so I can vote at least.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, this was a great idea. And I really am sorry I didn't write something.
Okay, I tried, but I'm so used to NOT telling that I can't actually write it.
ReplyDeleteIs this a fail or...? *confused*
