How much do I love you Karen Marie Moning? KMM is constantly teasing me and I won't even see this book until December! All of you listen to me. *points rigid finger* Go. Buy. Rent. Steal. The Fever Series and get to reading!! Buy it on iTunes and listen to it in your car. Or . . . click . . . HERE for the first book @ Amazon. I don't care! Just do it!! Me? I have it on the iPod AND on my eReader. Yes. I'm totally serious."Evil is a completely different creature, Mac.
Evil is bad that believes it's good."
MacKayla Lane was just a child when she and her sister, Alina were given up for adoption and banished from Ireland forever.
Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister's murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals that have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.
What follows is a shocking chain of events with devastating consequences, and now Mac struggles to cope with grief, while continuing her mission to acquire and control the Sinsar Dubh--a book of dark, forbidden magic scribed by the mythical Unseelie King that contains the power to create and destroy worlds.
In an epic battle between humans and Fae, the hunter becomes the hunted when the Sinsar Dubh turns on Mac, and begins mowing a deadly path through those she loves.
Who can she turn to? Who can she trust? Who is the woman that haunts her dreams? More importantly, who is Mac and what is the destiny she glimpses in the black and crimson designs of an ancient tarot card?
From the luxury of the Lord Master's penthouse, to the sordid depths of an Unseelie nightclub, from the erotic bed of her lover, to the terrifying bed of the Unseelie King, Mac's journey will force her to face the truth of her exile, and make a choice that will either save the world...or destroy it.
On a personal note . . . today, between work, deleting and scowling at 3 more rejections *sigh*, I actually wrote nearly 400 words on my WIP this morning! Yay me! *claps joyously* I'm gonna hit it hard today now that my Finales are watched. (Ah, LOST. You've only left me with more confusion. Uh, Brothers and Sisters? WTF do you think you're doing? Vampire Diaries . . . *nods* I knew you were going to do that. Bastards. Fringe. What can I say? You started out good, but now I'm a little leary of you. Supernatural . . . *rubs palms together and narrows eyes* Interesting, boys. I'm still a fan, so you're safe another year. Can't say that about Smallville. 24 *rolls eyes* Thank gawd you're over.)
I did wake up to a hate text from Meredith who apparently finished The End of Days last night. Obviously, she's not a fan of the cliffhanger:) BUT, she loves it, which is a good sign considering she was not a fan of Preternatural. She never said that out loud, of course, but after seeing her enthusiasm over the Two Series, she was far less exuberant with Preternatural. I mean, this girl boasts my name with complete strangers over that series. Love her.
And now . . . a little theme song to get me out of my rejection funk.

I popped over from Mia's blog to say hello and congratulate you on your award. I love your blog background. :-)
ReplyDelete*Waves* Hi Shannon! Thanks:)
ReplyDeleteI admire you. It truly is hard to start writing after receiving two rejections in one day. I know. I received three. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteBut it's like getting back on a horse once you've been thrown. And it focuses your determination to do better. To show the agents they were mistaken about your talent.
Boy, wouldn't it help if they gave just one sentence, hinting at why they rejected our beautiful words? Roland
Ah, Roland, if only. . . . But, I'm positive that I'm only getting rejected by those unworthy of my greatness:) It's going to happen. I've known that from the first time I typed THE END. So I keep truckin along with my fantabulous books and wait.
